Stars Without Borders
Genre:
Space exploration/Factory sandbox
Description:
A free roam space game set in a tiny county of an enormous galaxy. Aesthetics are based on the old internet and classical Roblox (maybe around 2011-2013). Partake in trade, industry and strike a couple deals with the innumerous characters spread throughout the county. Assemble a humble abode in the void of space and craft a mighty flagship for you to take to the starways. Uncover the many mysteries left behind by the original developers of the game (yes, there's meta).
Story:
A bumbling dev team of five (who assembled in a long-gone chatroom) try and make the most ambitious game on Roblox, and end up with an enormous set of star-systems, all hand-crafted and impossibly stunning, alongside four empires to rule the county:
- the Mawsu techno-republic, a quiet civilization of mice revered for their astonishing technological prowess;
- the Ag-eo and Ok-yu empires, as twinning empires of the same benevolent species of crocodile, fighting for dominance;
- the Seagol republic, a hardy and relatively tiny nation comprised of seagulls and crows (they both hate eachother) which built their country up from pollution-heavy industries that plunged their home planet into a cycle of neverending winter on one side and eternal summer on the other.
And lastly, there was the Robloxian Union, a unincorporated mass gathering of Robloxians all across the county to soar through the expanse of nil.
However, creating this game wasn't smooth sailing for the dev team. The main scripter for the game would begin to stir up drama and eventually cause the relations within the team to deteriorate. Eventually, they disbanded and the game was left in a state of limbo.
Three years later, a relatively unknown female developer would remember her experience with the game and create her reimagining of it. This caught the attention of all but one of the original dev team, with the former scripter finally being able to express their remorse for their past actions. And yet the scars left across history would still remain...
Gameplay:
I've always been fascinated by space and games set in space. This concept for game is basically a merging of all of my personal interests and beliefs on how to make a good game.
I generally want this game to force you to be creative when dealing with problems. As an example, if someone wants to settle on a planet, they would only have a few hours to set up a temporary base, extract all the resources they want and leave. Resources would be very limited and very expensive, so you would always have to come up with the most efficient and practical way of doing things. The harshest planets with the most terrible climates would be the most resource-rich places to base on, so you would have to find a way to defend against the natural elements whilst using the least amount of parts possible.
I've seen quite a lot of retro-inspired games on my homepage on Roblox recently, and while the aesthetic is usually nailed, there usually isn't much to establish any sort of story within the game (Some people don't even get the style right...). Most of the nostalgia I have from the internet was from seeing how creative the people around the world are, and visiting fantastical landmarks around the web. I think a better way to establish the ~ retro ~ aesthetic in games on Roblox would be to mimic the wacky, strange and odd voyagers of the internet and how they shaped the game in the first place.
So, as you trade and interact with the goofy characters throughout the countryside of the cosmos, you would be able to collect the archives of past chat-logs from the original developers of the game (don't ask me how I haven't figured that part out yet lmao) and peer into the "behind the scenes" of the original game and truly experience the vibes of the so-called "old internet".
As for the planets and species I want to put into the game, I took a lot of inspiration from Outer Wilds, Starscape (Roblox) and even Homestuck. For the base and ship-building part, I took inspiration from Waste of Space (Roblox) and how tight-knit the game can be.

Crusade of the Classics
Genre: 3D platformer + turn-based RPG
Story:
Note: You likely will not understand most of the references in this game if you're unfamilliar with Roblox
A bumbling historian known as Ferwey desires to speak to the head of Roblox himself. Unfortunately, a violent revolution seems to be blocking his way.
An unknown interloper has established themselves onto the land of Robloxia and unleashed a torrent of Robloxians from the past to take over this slowly decaying world. With thousands upon thousands of necromanced Robloxians rising up to usurp the throne of Builderman, it seems that this is a river that Ferwey simply cannot cross... if only the Robloxians had access to their full strength.
With the way the interloper revived them back from their graves, they suffer under a compromise that a stalemate is reached when the person they battle successfully avoids all of their attacks. Will Ferwey be able to take advantage of their weaknesses and pry his way to Roblox Headquarters in time? (of course he can he's the protagonist lmao)
Nomad of Survival
Genre: Turn based RPG
Description:
A turn-based RPG based on OFF, OneShot, Rain World and other games set in a decaying world. You progressively get weaker and weaker as you delve deeper into the shattered lands of Deconius. There is no way to escape the slow, painful degradation of the world, but there lies a way to survive it.
Story:
A young woman seeks to liberate herself from the frigidness of her home, and attempts to discover the colors that the world still have. Along the way, she discovers that the remaining bastions of color are all guarded by monstrous entities of varying sin. By taking the colors, she will have the effects of a blood pact inflicted onto her - that is, she is weakened with every color she finds. Despite the horrors that lie ahead, she is determined to bring light into the darkness of her abode, and claim a tiny portion of dignity over the uncaring void.
The bastions are spread throughout forsaken lands. These lands are:
- Yeriho
The first ever city established in Deconius, it eventually became a derelict town due to lack of interest, and the brutal progression of the settlers of Deconius. Only a small encampment known as the Levant, which is based on the outer rim of the city, still remains at a measly population of a dozen pilgrims.
Brave scouts who have dared the depths of the city have reported wandering androids around both major streets and cramped alleyways - reports claim that their sole purpose is 'to promote sinful endulgences and hide in the shadows.'
Rumors have it, the guardian at the centre of the city does not patrol around the cityscape like a tireless watchman - rather, they obsessively keep watch over a dying lamp.
- Ninive
The second city established in Deconius, in close proximity to Yeriho. This prosperous city, renowned for its passionate and hard-working people, was brought forward by its robot leader Shadows of Soul.
When Yeriho began to crumble, SoS was terrified of the possibility of their city following suit as well. They recruited their people to become confident in their work, to take pride in their labor, but this also inadvertenly became the precedent for their bigotry towards any other city's people.
Ninive's newfound volatility would further the consumption of Yeriho, alongside the damaging of other cities as well. Eventually, despite SoS' best efforts, their city would collapse as well.
What is left of the city are a losely tied together faction of bitter, resenting people, seeking to reclaim Ninive's domination through violence and hatred. SoS would shelter themselves away, into the very room they were created in.
- Honorestown
'What was before their arrival is unknown, for his glory outshines our bitter past!'
-Common phrase repeated from the followers of the Time-Honor
Most if not all of the residents of Honorestown are immigrants who praise Time-Honor and love them dearly, as if they were their only salvation. To the followers, they are the most agreeable, most friendly and most belovable figure in all of Deconia.
The rest of the cities know better, and they know that Time-Honor is nothing but a despicable person who seeks to manipulate their 'followers' into their bidding. And yet, no matter what type of intervention attempts to strike Honorestown, the reputation of Time-Honor as 'the one who knows all' is not lost to their disciples.
All history before the arrival of Time-Honor was erased from the minds of the residents of Honorestown. However, most of Honorestown's history is unremarkable anyway; it was a humble settlement of few populus until Time-Honor brought crowds of disciples to their new venture.
It is unknown what truly lies behind the mask of Time-Honor.
- the Ciaccose Ocean
Interestingly, this ocean was not an ocean during the establishment of the first cities. It was a wide, grassy plain, slowly eaten away at by hiveminded, voracious beasts known as the 'Consumme'. These beasts chased the inhabitants of the plains out, and have no free mind to regret - they only exist to devour and suckle.
In the floating isle of Karlsson, there lies the nest of the Consumme, alongside the largest almalgamation of the Consumme themselves. The few adventurers who attempted to establish contact with the Consumme were escorted out of the depths, or simply met with blatant ignorance.
- the Lohac archipelago
A massive volcano, known as Hopo'Hopo, erupted in the late stages of Deconius' history, turning the calm waters around it into an ocean of gushing magma, and forcing its settlers to relocate into skyscrapers, perched upon tiny isles.
A minor figure and entrepeneur known as Karikaminus brought together a large team and vowed to build the most high-quality skyscraper of all in the largest island of the archipelago. Their announcement was met with extremely high anticipation from the poverty-stricken people, who had their fair living conditions ruined by the volcano's blast.
In fact, their anticipation was so high that they protested and rioted when construction of the tower was met with even the smallest of delays. Pressured to finish their skyscraper as fast as possible, Karik's team were forced to make a terribly built spire in an extremely short time. But the people were still furious, for what they thought would be absolute paradise turned out to be extreme disappointment.
This spire, known as the Karikamus, still stands but it is slowly degrading and leaning towards the ocean. One day, it will meet with the unforgiving flow of the magma below.
Some say that the protesters were heavily encouraged and supported by mimics sent from the Consumme of the Ciaccose Ocean.
Gameplay:
Players are free to chose the order in which they engage the bastions.
For every color the protagonist collects, she is binded with a blood-pact: a certain gimmick that hinders her, some way or another.
